Schoolboy Q and A$AP Rocky bless us with some visuals for their latest track 'Hands on the Wheel', off of Schoolboy's album Habits and Contradictions...

Definitely one of my favorite tracks off of H&C, and the video perfectly keeps the vibe of the album and artwork that's already been established... aka dark, grimy and full of drugs and alcohol.
I'm not sure if this new niche of hip hop will be the new wave or maintain it's underground gritty appeal, but either way it's fun to watch and it seems like some new sounds and styles are finally entering hip hop. Exciting times; always interesting and inspiring to see an entire sub-genre become established, especially one that feels very DIY.

SebastiAn - Embody | Music Video

SebastiAn is a new artist on Ed Banger Records who just released his debut album, Total, a few weeks ago and is turning some heads in the electronic music front. This video is actually far from new, my boy David put me onto it months ago, but it wasn't until I heard his album that I was totally sold on SebastiAn. So I suggest a peep of the video, and even if you can't get down with the catchy-ass beat, the video is pretty entertaining itself...

The album stays along the same pace of this song, and I guess my best description is that his stuff sounds like a happier and less intense version of Justice but with the same overall sound as his label mates. There's also features from Mayer Hawthorne, MIA and Justice which are all dope tracks.

And lemme know if a black kid with awesome dance moves shows up when you play this video, cause no such luck here... maybe my speakers aren't good enough though.

UNKLE - The Runaway | Video

UNKLE is back with a second video, this time for 'The Runaway', off of their latest "Where Did the Night Fall" album. Same abstract dance vibe and same directors as the 1st video, peep...

Directed by James Lavelle's longtime associates Warren du Preez and Nick Thornton Jones, the film is an extension of the moody artwork the photographic duo created for the group’s recent album Where Did the Night Fall, and the sensuous promo (starring Liberty Ross covered in silver body paint) they shot for lead single “Follow Me Down.” “Between takes on ‘Follow Me Down’ we thought it would be interesting to see what performance we could work towards with this other track, 'The Runaway'. Its star, Shannon Tillery, a model and trained dancer, teamed up with British choreographer Russell Maliphant to create improvised movements that play with light, diffusion and shadow against a mysteriously shifting, semi-opaque surface.

Peeped it on nowness, but good looks to highsnobiety for getting it up on youtube.

After their awesomely elaborate 1st video adventure for 'Attack of the 5ft Hipster', this video is pretty toned down and basic, BUT it's my favorite song off their album so I figured it was worth the post.

Riot !n Paris - Attack of the 5ft Hipster | Video

Remember those special Goosebumps books from childhood where you would be able to navigate your own story line and choose your adventure by flipping to certain pages? Yeah well Brooklyn based rock/ hip hop group Riot !n Paris has recreated that method but in the form of a music video!

Hopefully you have some time to fully enjoy the adventure, the options come near the end of each video, so choose wisely friends...

Not the most lavish or high budget video, but definitely the most creative that I've seen in a long time. And I was especially drawn in because the story just keeps getting deeper and deeper no matter what options you choose (honestly they could have stopped after the 1st set and I still would have been impressed). Marketing wise, it also made me want to hear more of the song, so they definitely win for that too.

Musically the song is pretty entertaining, especially lyrically if you live in NYC or ever visit BK or LES. The hipster debates convos between Meezy and I are constant so I was chuckling.

If you wanna hear more from Riot !n Paris you can download their free album "Weekend at Kenny's" from their bandcamp. I'm a few tracks in and my best description is The Knux meets Ninjasonik (or maybe just meets Brooklyn), so I'm digging it.

Kanye West - Power | Video

Yes this is a video for Kanye's new single Power, but don't get it twisted, it's not a music video! OK?! It's an experience, a moving portrait, that happens to have Kanye's Power playing in the background...

Yeah I honestly don't care that I'm a whole 4 days late on this; I haven't had internet and after watching this for the 3rd straight time this morning, I'm sublimely inspired. The visual is stunning. Directed by Marco Brambilla.

Not sure how Kanye stays so creative and inspired himself but it's really amazing watching this man create. He said that this album or the album after this will be his masterpiece, and a complete culmination of his work and career. Yeah as a fan if that doesn't get you excited to hear his album, nothing will.

And yes yes there was an uncensored version with bewbs, but it got taken down for the time being.

UPDATE: Peep the directors cut. trying to decide which I prefer now.

If your ear drums haven't experienced Flying Lotus yet, I would skip attempts at a genre and simply describe him as experimental, trippy, awesomeness. And this video only adds to the effect oh his music...

Must... go... try... psychedelics... now...

I keed, I keed, but if you do listen to FlyLo with some great headphones and your eyes closed, it's probably the closest thing you can get to a psychedelic trip with out taking any drugs. Well at least I find it pretty awesome.

Fonsworth Bentley's long awaited music career is finally starting to makes some moves as he just released his first single and video, "Greener"...

While I'm not 100% sold on this song or the fact that Mr. Bentley can make for a great musical artist, I have been a fan of what he's put out so far. So it's nice to see some headway finally being made. And it seems like his music has a Sa-Ra type vibe which I definitely dig! Wouldn't be surprised to see Taz and Sa-Ra on the album actually.
