For their very first World Basketball Festival, Nike is completely taking over New York City for the next week with basketball madness. There are going to be games on some of the city's most famous courts (most notably Rucker and MSG) as well as international friendlies between USA, France, China, Puerto Rico, and Brasil. In conjunction with this, Nike is giving shine to each borough with limited AF1s and apparel, as well as with this 1LOVE campaign which was all directed by BBGUN.
This is the Brooklyn episode, hosted by Theophilus London...
There's a new hookah bar on our campus that we started visiting pretty regularly this year. We hit it up last weekend with a bunch of requests and they basically accommodated every single one of them and let us have the best night this semester.
So the 1st request was to bring in a few bottles of wine and number 2 was to let us iPod DJ for the night. They had no problem with either, so it was Theophilus London, Red Wine, and Hookah on some nice comfy couches. Then the owner came over and gave us a 2nd hookah on the house. Yes, it was that kinda night. Once we got home the pictures got more and more obscure. Like this one of some stickers and 3D glasses. Oh and then my slippers. "This Guy"
Thanks to the people at Hollywood Hookah on Marshall St., Cannonball Wine, Jane, Marina, Charissa, Theophilus London and everyone else who made the night great.
Someone owes me some Makers Mark by the way. You all downed that!
You may have already heard the name Theophilus London floating around in the realm of this new wave of underground music, or you might still be having trouble pronouncing it (Thee-ah-fil-us). Well the genre-fusing artist (I'm talking 80's pop, soul, funk, hip-hop, electric, and more) has just released his new work today titled This Charming Mixtape.
The new mixtape is much more refined than the 1st one, JAM!, but stays with the same flavor of sampling, singing, mixing, and rapping. I've only given it one listen so far but it's sounding quite good. So if you're a die hard fan, have an ear for crazy genre bending music, or are just down for something new, give this man a listen.
