Bape China Tees

Well until Bape Shanghai opens its doors, technically there isn't a Bape China store, BUT Hong Kong, Taipei, and Singapore Bape stores will be receiving these nice tees that are very reminicent of China's flag...

Simple yet nice. I'm still waiting on the opening tees for Shanghai though, and hoping that the store opens sometime before October.

Comme des Garçons PLAY x EXI.T - Pop-Up in Hong Kong

For the next couple of weeks there will be a Comme des Garçons PLAY pop-up in the EXI.T shop in Causeway Bay...

With basically no buildout, the shop maintains the raw industrial feeling that Comme des Garçons brings to many of its locations. And as for product, it is carrying a limited line of 5 tees, which you can get a peek at in the pictures.

July 10- Aug 1

Sub by Subcrew - Stadium Jacket

Hong Kong's Subcrew is unveiling its new higher end division, Sub, starting with this nice and simple stadium jacket...

While living in Hong Kong, Subcrew always felt like an HK version The Hundreds or Supreme. Logo/ graphic heavy, not too expensive, and almost everybody into streetwear had at least a simple Subcrew trucker hat. Staple items. So it's nice to see them branch out, and put some good quality into their new Sub line and also tone down the graphics at the same time.

Available online now.

1,000 Posts and Runnin'

It's been one year, six months, and thirty days since we started this blog, and damn have we come a long way. Been through 4 cameras, more countries than I would have imagined, and met some really amazing people. I used to get mad when Meezy would blog about his lunch, and now we're being sourced by the likes of Hypebeast and Honeyee, as well as actually making a difference for some of these brands. And even with all of that, I promise that this is just the beginning.
Some of you have been with us from day 1 and some of you might be reading this as your very 1st SwaggerDap visit, so here are just a handful of pictures to catch you up on the past year and a half...

We started in this little cubicle at Syracuse University with an idea and a ton of work to do...

Up at Syracuse we got into some shenanigans, which for some reason usually involved taking some traffic paraphernalia, or in this case shopping carts...

We also happened to move out to Hong Kong for a few months...

Visited South East Asia where, as you can see, we were treated like celebrities...

On our travels we hit up crazy releases everywhere from Juice in Hong Kong...

To Bodega in Boston...

And saw some amazing works like the Michael Lau Crazy Force One exhibit...

Also had the chance to build with tons of great people, like Marcus Troy in Montreal...

Got to meet NERD at the BBC/ Ice Cream store ...

And if you ever had the chance to hang out with us, you know we like to have fun and act like idiots all the time...

Like when we had the BBQ of fake Jordans and Bape...

And when Meezy met the mysterious girl in the white dress up in Toronto...

Overall I just want to thank everyone who visits the blog, the brands that we have built such great relationships with, anyone who has retweeted a blog post, and all of the people who have taken time to listen to our ideas and help us build what we have. Special thanks to Yom and Joan for your help, you're coming with us on this ride.

So keep it locked to SwaggerDap, and I feel like a broken record, but you won't be disappointed with what we have in store.

1,000 posts and running...

Bape Octopus Card & Holder (HK Exclusive)

If you've never been to Hong Kong then there is a good chance that you have never even heard of an Octopus Card. But if you live in Hong Kong, you know that an Octopus Card is the greatest thing ever and can be used for the MTR, 7-11, ice cream trucks, McDonalds, and more.
Well Bape is now releasing a special Octopus Card and holder exclusively for the Hong Kong store.

Coming in a white multi-camo, the Bape Octopus Card and holder will be released at the Bathing Ape store in Hong Kong on May 31st.

I'm thinking about picking one of these up just on the chance that I'll be moving to or visiting HK very soon.

MIchael Lau - CS Booth 16 "Gardener Still"

Another season and another new release of toys from celebrated Hong Kong artist Michael Lau's Crazy Smiles.

On March 21st Michael Lau's Crazy Smiles will release a whole new collection of toys that are still unknown. All we have as a preview are some promo fliers like the Metal Gear Solid inspired one above, so a possible Michael Lau x Solid Snake toy just might emerge.

If you are in Hong Kong, try to make it out to the Michael Gallery for this release, and you might just want to get there a little early. The reselling game in HK is something serious.

N. Hollywood s/s 2009 - New Order

Progressive Japanese line N. Hollywood has released another themed season for spring/summer 2009 titled "New Order"

Before you judge, take a look at the inspiration of the line:
"A collection inspired by traditional Amish quilts, handing over from mother to daughter, from generation to generation. The designs reflect the disciplined lifestyle and the clothing of Amish as well as the respect for ladies quilters is incorporated in details. Quilts were spread over parts of the vast grass-covered runway. On this land, brightly-dressed children gradually grow up into adults covered in ''ordered'' clothes."

Conceptually I think this is just awesome. How they tied the boxy quilt theme into every piece of clothing so well and completely ran with it for the runway aspect as well is just great execution.

Check out the entire line in runway shots through the N. Hollywood site.
Also look for the collection at N. Hollywood stores in Japan and Hong Kong as well as IT in HK.

Know1edge x Fiberops Stadium Jacket

Hong Kong's Know1edge and Fiberops have teamed up for this "Mahjong 'n Moonlight" stadium jacket.

Not normally a fan of stadiums but this jacket actually doesn't look too bad, especially since it's repping HK.
Mahjong n Moonlight is written across the wool back with the leather sleeves featuring patches for each brand as well as some with the Hong Kong flag. As a celebration of HK the "Mahjong 'n Moonlight" jacket is available exclusively at 8FIVE2SHOP in Causeway Bay.

Adventures in Hong Kong: A Chinese Wedding

Last Sunday we were lucky enough to be invited to a wedding in Hong Kong by one of our good friends Money. (yes, Money. I know, I wish it was my name too)

The bride and groom.

Sweet ice sculpture.

We were there for Money so Meezy and I thought this pic was appropriate.

The wedding was really nice, food was great, bar was open, night was great. Congrats to Money and Vincent and thanks once again for the invite.

Adventures in Hong Kong: Ocean Park

Meezy took the day off of work yesterday so we could check out Ocean Park, an amusement park/ aquarium/ one of the few places you can see live pandas , which we have been meaning to get to for a few months now.

As you can see we were really excited to be there....
and before we even got to the zoo area I spotted this crazy looking bug. I mean i guess the picture doesn't do it justice but up close it looked like something you'll see in the next Gears of War.
Amazing view from that roller coaster.
Mmmmm, lunch was tasty squid tentacles from the one and only Mr. Squid.
The layout of Ocean Park was so damn confusing, we ended up riding this same 5 minute escalator 3 times.
But in the end at we did get to see some cool pandas so it was all worth it.

You need like 2 whole days to see all of the park, but definitely a good visit if in Hong Kong
