My intuition is telling me that this could end really really bad. I'm just picturing camo sweaters with red hearts or ABCamo heart tees, and it's all making me shudder. But hey, let's be optimistic and hope for the best, because you know that no matter what it looks like, we'll be seeing it all over the place soon.

Bape hits us with the URSUS Spring 2011 collection, artfully shot I Spy style...








Overall I think the art direction outdoes the actual products, but URSUS is always clean and impressive. And the footwear and accessories from this collection are especially nice here.

Bape Shark 2010 Release

For the 2010 version of the Shark, Bape is going back to the simple OG colorways, with 'WGM' (world gone mad) patch on the half camo hood, and for a new detail, a half camo left sleeve...



Sure these look pretty much like the classic sharks that we all used to lust over, and while they definitely aren't better, the half camo sleeve is actually a pretty nice little detail. And I'm very pleased to see the original colorways, so crispy. Doesn't matter how mature fashion wants to get, the shark hoody is just a timeless piece of streetwear (the tiger and fish though, that's your own judgement call).

Out this weekend at Bape shops.

Bape Kids 2010 Winter Mook Catalog

Bape just dropped their Bape Kids 2010 Winter catalog...





Love that they're going back to the Baby Milo food themed goods. The catalog comes with the usual stickers, a pretty sweet Bape Kids tote bag, as well as a compact Baby Milo flip mirror (the later two for mom I'm assuming). Just released so get to your nearest Bape shop or trusty Japanese book store to pick it up.

Bape Shanghai Opening Items & Camo

A lot of people were anticipating the possibility of a red and yellow colorway for Bape's Shanghai location, but Nigo went with a more subtle blue and yellow camo to represent their 1st store in mainland China...


and as you can see by the empty talk bubble, it looks like Nigo will be there for a signing of the opening tees.

Bape Store Shanghai (Location Update)

Not breaking news or anything, but on a little stroll through Shanghai's Xintiandi district I noticed an obnoxiously loud store front shrouded in Bape camo...






Xintiandi is a small walking district of Shanghai that has kept the small walking streets and passages exactly as they were back in the day. At the very end of Xintiandi is the Xintiandi mall, where Hong Kong fashion conglomerate IT recently opened one of their amazing high end IT department stores, an http://izzue.com, and now soon to be a Bape store (which is connected to the ground floor of IT on the outside of the mall).

Bape x Toys McCoy - Aviator Jacket

Bape has teamed up with Toys McCoy, a Japanese vintage brand, for this WW2 aviator jacket...



Toys McCoy is well known for their top quality reproduction of classic American clothing, so they were clearly an obvious choice for this jacket. The military bomber features a heavy olive canvas shell, thick wool lining with hints of Bape camo, fur collar, and leather patches on the chest that read "Beneath, Escape, Conquest, Battle". Especially considering the quality and subtlety, this would make for a perfect Winter jacket, although it will hurt your wallet.

A Bathing Ape Special Order Shark Varsity

One of the special order items from this years A Bathing Ape A/W mook is this rather nice looking Shark Varsity jacket.

Available in the 1st Gen. Shark colours (red, navy, olive drab and black) the varsity is only available to residents of Japan who order it through the order form that comes with the mook.

The varsity itself is the same design as last years Shark varsity release and includes the zip hood but this time the body comes in a satin finish.

A Bathing Ape 2010 Autumn Lookbook by Nigo

Pharrel and Nigo's brand Billionaire Boys Club has always released online Lookbooks for each season and this year Bape have taken on this idea with the A Bathing Ape 2010 Autumn Lookbook by Nigo


Featuring Nigo wearing items from the upcoming season, the lookbook also informs us of dates and prices of releases

No news on whether or not this will replace the usual mook that is released for each season. I would be surprised as they must make good money on those? We will have to wait and see.

Bape x Rakuten Eagles

After their popular Hanshin Tigers collaboration, Bape enter into the world of baseball once more, this time with the Tohoku Rakuten Eagles.

The Rakuten Eagles are another popular baseball team here in Japan, forming in 2005 in Sendai.

However, this time the items for sale are seats at an Eagles game in August vs the Chiba Lotte Marines. The tickets go on sale from the 25th June and will cost ¥10,000 each. Purchase of the ticket gets you entrance to one of the 3 games to be played, a free exclusive Bape t-shirt (different design for each night) and a fan meet and greet with Nigo and Baby Milo of the 7th July.

Now, the only question that remains is "When are your going to do a Yomiuri Giants collab Nigo?"

Well, it turns out that there are actually several collabs going ahead during that period to celebrate Original Fake's 4th anniversary.

Along with the NBHD one there is also a Bape and an Undercover collaboration.
