Burn Rubber x New Balance 580

New Balance and Detroit sneaker boutique Burn Rubber have joined creative forces to launch the limited-edition New Balance 580...

The New Balance 580 Burn Rubber is built on one of the most classic New Balance silhouettes. The sneaker is lined with a sleek orange, gray and black argyle in homage to the shop colors of Burn Rubber. The New Balance Burn Rubber 580 also features white patent heel and tongue label, reflective grey foxing, and a customized hang tag featuring the shop’s mascot, the Chef. This limited edition sneaker will be available on Black Friday, November 26th.

Not normally a fan of New Balance, but I have to say, when they do a collab or special edition shoe, they do it right. These are clean. And this photo shoot is pretty dope, tying in the concept of Burn Rubber's chef mascot.

Sidenote: Big Sean is always donning the Burn Rubber chef logo fitted. And I only note this because I've had various people ask me for some reason.

New Balance x Undefeated x Stussy: 580 "Full Metal Jacket"

New Balance and Undefeated joining forces to launch the first-ever 580 Undefeated Collection. Along with the 3 pairs of sneakers, Stussy has also jumped on board for the "Full Metal Jacket" tee shirts.

The 580 Undefeated Collection features three distinct looks, all built on the 580 silhouette. The collection features camouflage linings and insert, mid-sole graphics representative of barbed wire and a tongue label imagined from the tag of a military uniform. The collection includes three metallic colorways: gold, silver and black. Each shoe is constructed of premium perforated leather and features signature red laces and custom UNDFTD lace locks.

The New Balance 580 Undefeated Collection will launch this Saturday, April 25th at Undefeated stores exclusively! Also, to go along with this launch there will be “Full Metallic Jacket t-shirts” available for sale at Undefeated stores.

SNEAKER TOKYO : The Past, Present and Future of Sneaker Culture in Tokyo

March 2004

Tokyo

Issue 1 of "SHOES MASTER" is published

Fast forward to 2009 and to celebrate the 5th Anniversary and their 10th Issue (SHOES MASTER is published twice a year) they have released a compilation book, containing the best and most talked about articles and interviews from the previous SHOES MASTER magazines.

Interviews with Hiroshi Fujiwara (Fragment), Hiroaki Shitano (Whiz), Shigeyuki Kunii (mita) and others are included, as well as features on many brands such as adidas, Converse, Reebok and VANS about what the future holds for the sneaker market.

The major bonus with the book is that it is in Japanese AND English, so sneaker heads from all over the world can enjoy it.

The book finishes with a list of the best and hottest Tokyo Sneaker stores, with a map to help you find them the next time you are in Tokyo.

Here are some scans from the book.

I will type up a transcript of the interview with Hiroshi Fujiwara later this week.

Enjoy.
