It was previously announced that the new Stussy NYC on 176 Spring St. would be opening "on or around August 24th. Well apparently they are a day or so behind schedule because the glass storefront still has paper covering it from top to bottom, however with some espionage tactics there is a little preview of the interior...
Not all that much different from the Union layout, and certainly nothing glamorous, the store should definitely be open by the weekend.
Guess those opening items will have to wait...

A Sneak Peek Into Stussy NYC

Stussy NYC Opening Items
We broke the news last month that Stussy NYC would be returning in the space that Union NYC once held. Well in true Stussy Chapter Store fashion there will be some opening items for the event.
1st up is the "Money Making Manhattan" tee.
And there will also be these Stussy designed Timberland mocc boots that have the smooth nubuck toe box with whole grain leather upper. Coming in red and black, the tongue shouts out to all 5 boroughs.
Stussy NYC opens its new home in just a few days, on Monday August 24th.

Union NYC to become the new Stussy NYC
We took a walk by Union NY yesterday to see if there were any final sales going on but were only greeted by a boarded up front and this really nice letter...
So it seems that the Union space will soon be turned into the new Stussy NYC flagship, as their old space on Wooster closed a few months ago.
Kinda sad to see the space all closed down in person, but at least a classic brand will be replacing a classic store.

Union NYC Closing Its Doors
For every store opening, there is also one closing. And with over 20 years of NYC pioneering in the street wear scene it is time that Union NYC must say goodbye...
While some people complained that the store was too small or the staff were standoffish, there is no denying the huge impact that Union has had on the NYC scene. They are the only account for Visvim, Neighborhood, and W)Taps in the city, and even though they may seem too cool for it now, they were actually one of the very 1st BBC/ Ice Cream accounts ever. Definitely sad to see the store and the great brands that it carries leave SoHo.
I'll never forget their original store down the block, which was about the size of a closet. It was literally a struggle to move something on the racks since they carried so many brands in such a tight space. Then if you needed a size they had to lift up the floor and climb into the basement! Great stuff. haha
For a final "hooray!" they have teamed up with PegLeg NYC for this stars and stripes G-Shock. Their final collabo.... which Pharrell seems to be digging.
PS. I'm pretty sure that Union LA is separately owned and will be staying in business. So don't fret my Cali friends.

Uniqlo - New Season, New Site
Japanese mega-brand Uniqlo has unveiled their autumn/ winter line on their new website.
Just use the Uniqlo explorer and browse the new seasons items through a series of mosaics that are made out of the last image you saw. It's hard to explain but it is very cool, so give it a look.

The site, you'll like, and the new seasons to come you should too. Filled with nice staple items, knits, and outerwear to get you into and through the cold.

Union Website Relaunched
Union LA finally has their site back up.
Right now they are only offering super exclusive (and super expensive) brands Neighborhood and w)taps which I believe is the only place to cop them online outside of Japan.
Possibly more brands to follow?
