Supra Skytop "Acid Wash Denim"

Yea it's been quite a while since Supra graced the pages of SwaggerDap, but these Acid Wash Denim Skytops are a solid addition to the Spring sneaker lineup...

Cotton based kicks (canvas and denim) are definitely the move for the Spring and Summer months. And the Acid Wash effect on these Skytops is pretty badass!

You can pick these up at Rugged Sole right now.

Supra Skytop Hi "Red/ Black Tie Dye"

Honestly I've never been the biggest fan of Supra, but every once and a while they put out a sneaker that tickles my fancy. And while I wouldn't normally think that a shoe with red and black tie die treatment would be one of those, I happen to like this new Skytop...

Just released, you can cop now from Rugged Sole

The Supra Skytop 2

Supra's long awaited Muska Skytop 2 has finally been released. And while it does take inspiration from some obvious sources, it looks pretty good and very much so a high top...

The Skytop II sticks with a pretty similar silhouette but gets a little higher and a little more "designer". There is also the addition of the Jordan VI/ Spiz'ike which plays pretty well with the shoe. This colorway is limited edition, with only 600 pairs will be available worldwide in this "gradient" color.

Available now at colette.

Supra TK Society Pro Model Releases

A few months back we saw the initial pictures of Terry Kennedy's pro model for Supra. Now Supra has finally announced an official release and the 2 colorways that will be dropping.

The TK Society Pro Model will be dropping internationally on May 17th at select Supra accounts, so hit up your local dealer.

HighSnobiety caught up with TK for a nice interview about the shoe, clothes, skating, and how he hooked up with The Fly Society and Curren$y.

From Terry:
"The shoe was probably already 50 percent done already the first time I saw it. It was a high, already had the two straps, but there were a lot of things we started to change. We changed the sole on it. It was a cup sole at first, so we changed it to a vulcanized sole which skates better, because I wanted to make something that I was comfortable skating in, but at the same time was fashionable. Then we hid the laces, tucked em in so when you skate ‘em your laces don’t rip. Then we put a special sock liner on the inside, so when you slide your feet in it hugs your feet. That’s why people trip when they put it on, it’s so comfortable.

I like to strap em when I skate in ‘em, give my ankles some support. Then when I’m not skating I like to rock ‘em unstrapped, with the straps just flaring out, get the swagger going."

Hot Chicks - Cool Kicks by Playboy x Leaders 1354

Chicago's famous local sneaker boutique, Leaders 1354, and world famous mens magazine Playboy, also founded in Chicago, have collaborated for a spread simply called "Hot Chicks - Cool Kicks."

The Leaders 1354 x Reebok - Reverse Jam

The Hundreds - Johnson Mid

Nike Dunk SB Hi "Big Gulp"

Supra Skytop

Supra Vaider

I'm not exactly a Playboy man but I thought that it was blog worthy and some big news for Leaders 1354.
The rest of the spread includes sneakers from Alife, Puma, Adidas and more from Nike and Supra. It can be seen here as modeled by Playboy Playmate (Miss January 2001) Irina Voronina.

I think this just became long time SwaggerDap reader, Matt's favorite post.

Supra Stubb's Skytop: SXSW Edition

Ever since I was a kid and my dad would quote the Stubbs BBQ sauce bottle by saying "Ladies and gentlemen, I am a cook," I've always wanted to hit up the restaurant in Austin. Well there is no better time then now as legendary sauce maker and restaurant, Stubbs, has collaborated with Supra for a very limited Skytop to celebrate SXSW this year.

Good food, good music, good shoes. Does it get any better??

Supra Footwear wanted to drop another shoe in the 413 series and SXSW was the perfect occasion. Partnering up with Spin Magazine and Stubb’s BBQ, Supra is proud to present the Stubb’s Skytop. The Skytop takes its name from one of the best places to eat and see live music in Austin, Texas and takes its look from their world famous barbecue sauce. To coincide with this release, we have created a special edition package that will only be sold at Stubb's Bar-B-Q this Friday in Austin, Texas (address below).

This special edition package will include a pair of Stubb's Skytops, a 2009 SXSW apron, a bottle of Stubb's sauce, all inside a handmade wooden numbered box that is branded with the 2009 SXSW seal. There will be ONLY 50 boxes for sale this Friday from 10am-11am.

An international release date for the regular edition of this Skytop is set for a couple weeks, with date and store info to follow

Supra - Terry Kennedy Pro Model

There have been tons of sneak peaks, shots of TK wearing the models, and even a crazy rose gold sample. But now Supra is actually releasing some studio pics of the upcomming TK's.

Not sure how these will actually work for skating (being that they're a pro model and not an NS) since hi-tops are hard enough for me to skate in. But they do look pretty cool, and it seems like that's the most important part with a dude like TK.

Look out for these unstrapped in all their glory very soon.

Shiny Metallic Supras (Suprano & TK)

While Supra has been and continues to come with strong releases, in doing that there are always some misses. So while this may be one of my many unpopular opinions here are some shiny metallic Supras that just aren't doing it for me.

1st up: The rose gold TK model.
These are samples as of now but knowing TK (and Supras metallic love) they very well might be released.

Next: Jim Greco's new model from Supra, the Suprano in metallic purple.

To me these aren't nearly as bad as the rose golds, but I can only imagine how bad these might turn out when creased or even worse skated in.

The Supranos will be available at select Supra accounts in January, while the highly anticipated TK's are still slated for a Spring release. (unless you can find a sample pair like these on ebay)

Weekly "Cop Or Not": Footwear

Smash or Pass, Hot or Not, Yay or Nay, Hao Bu Hao…we don’t have a name for this segment yet, but you get the damn point! Me and Jeff picked out 5 interesting kicks that surfaced on the net this past week and round tabled a few of our peeps to give us their opinions on ‘um.

Peep Below.

Me: I’m in there. All Day. Anywhere
Jeff: I'm smashing and I'm a let niggas know I'm smashing!
Sewz: Yeah, I'd rock 'em with some black jeans and a simple logo shirt. Just to avoid "doing too much."
Coburn: No way would I ever cop. Gross.
Griddy: …not my cup of tea. Not Coppin.

Jeff: I'm not smashin'. They're too much like the 5's. I'm not tryna be on my Syracuse shit. Damn Supras, you finally let me down.
Me: HELL YEAH! I don’t even care that they look like 5s. I’m smahsin’ these. Hard. I’m madd the toes look like Dunks tho.
Joel: Dope sneaker. I rock purple and that green is tough. I skate but never in white sneakers so these are strictly for getting fly, no shredding in these.
Steve-O: I like the color way for these but I hate low top sneakers, so I probably wouldn't buy these.
Jenny B: Definitely no, they look kinda grandma-ish

Gourmet Holiday 2008 Footwear

Jeff: I'm not smashing and I'm gonna be mad @ my manz if he smashed.
Me: Uuuuh, I’m doin it. But only on some grown and sexy vibe. You know, like pea coats and shit.
Steve-O: I like these. They are nice and clean. And they look better than the Jordan 10's.
Pierre: not even close to my style. No cop
Noelle & Ron’nise: these are wacc...they look like somethin' my grandpa would wear. Ron'nise said they look like playboys...I don’t know if that’s the name of the shoe, but she said that’s what her father calls 'em.

2C v 3N

Orchard Street x Reebox Re-up Lux

Me: I’m Good. These aren’t for me. But I respect the originality.
Jeff: I’m not smashing, too much...but nothing really significant going on.
Coburn: Good use of color ways and interesting laces. A dope pair of sneakers. Coppin.
Griddy: These look kinda hot. I’d consider them.
Steve-O: These are plain wack.... Next!

1C v 3N v a Shakey Choice

Louis Vuitton x Stephen Sprouse
Photobucket
More Info: SwaggerDap

Jeff: I might smash just to see what they working with, but it’s either gonna be a big L or I’m making History. High risk.
Me: No Way. Goodnight
Coburn: Too wild and eye catching I can only imagine the price tag. Not copping.
Pierre: Looks like clownwear. No cop
Sewz: These make me wanna barf.
Joel: I don’t even want my chick to rock these. Honestly names don’t mean anything to me. It’s all about design. These look annoying to put on, take off and walk in. If they are for girls I can dig it on some photo shoot moves type stuff, but wearing them is another thing...
Steve-O: These are dope. I'm not sure of whether I would really wear them. But they are def. something dope to have in the stash.
Griddy: These are different. Some Kanye / Pharrell shit. Not for me though. No Cop.
Jenny B: By far my Favorite!! And they’re Louis Vuitton, that’s so hot. In loveeee.
Noelle & Ron’nise: these are out of control...they're horrible. Ron'nise said they leave a bad taste in her mouth. The colors don’t go together everything is out of sync - and to her that’s the ugliest sneaker. There is too much goin' on and it doesn't all go together.

..….. And she said that they're not just hi tops...they're super hi tops (lmao)...and she doesn’t know where the metallic gold strap are comin' from and there are too many of them...maybe if they were low cut they would look better

After a relatively subtle set of colorways last season, Supra starts this year off with some bold solid colors. Here are the Purple and Gold Vaider along with the Blue Tiger Skytop.

These kinda came out of nowhere and are already hitting many Supra accounts, so check your local spot for details.
Also, there are some nice red n yellow, purple accented, and silver colorways set to drop soon as well, so keep it locked.

Supra Skytop - Silver & Turquoise

After the huge sucess of the 14k Gold Skytops, Supra is back with some silver Skytops that feature some nice turquoise accents.

I'm still undecided on these. They seem pretty nice but I don't think I would wife them. Especially for the prices that they are going for. (peep eBay)

These hit shelves over in Germany this week but are uber limited in the states so far. You can cop from Overkill now.

Supra Trinity - White

Supra! damnit! you gotta spread out all this hot content you keep releasing! How are you gunna manage to keep this up all year??

You should already know about the sleek black colorway of the premium Supra Trinity (i told you about it here)
Well there are now pictures of the pure white colorway.....

The smooth croc on the inner panels of the shoes is contrasted beautifully by the rough cracked material of the outter shell and strap accross the laces. The premium materials and design really intrique me and needless to say, I'm feeling this shoe alot.

I think the $210 that i was considering dropping on the black trinity might be moving over to the white pair if i do end up copping.

Supra! Welcome to the Sneaker Game!

In recent years we have seen sneaker companies like Greedy Genius and Cr8tive Recreation that have been around for a minute finally get the recognition that they deserve for their innovating design in a market that sees more than its fair share of "borrowing" ideas.

well after the wild success of the "14k" gold skytops released in late '07, it seems that this year the sneaker company to take that role may just be Supra

pictured above is the Supra NS Trinity that will make its debut in the spring and cost just over $210. With this model they are making the brave move of stepping into the "high end" shoe market (which i personally consider any premium shoe over $200 retail) which is an especially suprising move to see from a skate company.

but they will also keep comming out with fresh skate shoes with more of the street style as seen here with the Skytop Comakazi, which is dropping sometime this week.
so keep a look out for Supra this year. i have a feeling they're gunna turn some heads.
