The Selby recently made its way down to Miami to get a look into Pharrell's spacious home. Filled with amazing Kaws work, some of Pharrell's own designs and plenty of breath-taking visuals, take a look...
"You can do it too..."
Absolutely insane on all counts. I feel like my whole life just got shitted on, but then inspired to reach for more.
If you arent familiar with The Selby already, it is photographer Todd Selby's project that visits both the creative and living spaces of some of the world's best from the creative world. You'll be hooked on the site, and they also just published their very first book.

N*E*R*D - Nothing | Album Artwork
The album is already a couple weeks late, but we finally get to see the album cover for N*E*R*D's Nothing...
Guess an album cover is one step closer to the album releasing, but I've been waiting on this anxiously since May! Fiend status, being that they claim this could very well be their finest work.

Pharrell Interview at Midem
Pharrell recently gave the keynote interview speech at the Midem music biz conference in France. The interviewer is terrible and the audience is apparently dead and or deaf, but Pharrell talks about many of his ventures, his work, how he operates, thinks and many of the philosophies that he lives by...
I've always been a huge Pharrell fan and it's nice to see that while he does have his hands in so many pots he also has an amazing entrepreneurial mind and a large role in many of his ideas.
What do you do when someone tried to shoot down your idea?
"I challenge it, 100%. and I love it, because it makes the idea that much more sound... Challenges and "No"s make you stronger and give your idea a tougher shell if the idea is worth chasing. It's not not taking no for an answer, it's using that feedback as constructive criticism. It's not personal"
I feel like Meezy and I need to go into business with Pharrell one day. Like-minded individuals.

props to NahRight and Illionaire for extracting this from the Midem site so that I could post it

BBC x BP3
Next week BBC will be releasing 3 different tees to promote Jay-Z's Blueprint 3 album. The 1st shirt that we get a look at plays off of the song that Pharrell is featured on, So Ambitious...
Due out next week, I'll get the pictures of the other 2 shirts up as soon as pictures surface, and hopefully with a date.

The Clipse ft Pharrell - I'm Good (Music Video)
Here is the official video to I'm Good, the 2nd single off of the upcoming 3rd Clipse album, Till the Casket Drops.
Not the most exciting or high budget of videos but fits the song, and is perfect for the Summer. Can't wait for Till the Casket Drops to .... well drop. The brothers Thornton are actually going to branch out for production and features beyond Star Trak. Rumored that Cam is even on a track, yes I'm very intrigued also.

BBC / Ice Cream - Season 9 Lookbook
Remember a few days ago when I showed you those ... ummm ... "interesting" pieces from Billionaire Boys Club / Ice Cream?
Well luckily the entire season came out much better than just those pieces would lead one to believe. Here's a small look at their Season 9 collection...
Straying away from the resort driven "Space Beach" this year is all about prep with "Space Hunt". Slimming down with more smart fit jeans and pants with collared and crew neck tops, they pull of the fun sophisticated look quite well. I also like that they are doing a super subtle running dog on the pants in the last picture with navy on navy.
This stuff will start trickling into stores in late summer and continue through the fall.
Check the entire lookbook here.

BBC/ Ice Cream - "Space Hunt" Equestrian Print (Holiday 2009)
It seems like every season BBC/ Ice Cream comes out with something even more over the top just to make us all say "Huh?". Well this coming season is obviously no different as the new theme, "Space Hunt", will involve a series of equestrian related prints, which you can see below...
Personally, I was feeling "Space Beach" much more than this stuff so far but I do have to say that I'm glad that he isn't biting Polo at all and instead is going in a COMPLETELY different direction.
For more of what looks to be a highlight next season is this new 3D city print which is a birdseye view down onto a city full of traffic and skyscrapers.
Don't worry though, "Space Hunt" will just be one aspect of the collection as we can expect the full Holiday 2009 lookbook from BBC/ Ice Cream sometime next week.

Hype Means Nothing - Finger Glasses Tees
New label Hype Means Nothing is making some noise with its very 1st round of tee shirts which feature various celebrities making glasses with their fingers.
The full concept behind the shirts can be read below, but each has a celebrity making glasses with their fingers and in the bottom right has a description of the "glasses" and their price. there is also their cockroach logo on the front chest and bottom of the back with some very interesting stitching in the rear as well. Each shirt comes in black, white, and grey.
While these are the only ones up for sale at the moment, the collection also includes Jay-Z, Obama, Brittany Spears, Lil Wayne, Charlie Chaplin, Travis Barker, Brad Pitt, Playmobil, and Will Smith.
The HYPE MEANS NOTHING concept:
"Populating now your wardrobes like insects invading houses, the cockroach branded label doesn't have in mind to stop its invasion, even soon.
Hype Means Nothing and its first collection, a label in total opposition with its favourite playground since it uses "caricatures" to criticize all these people aiming at being actively involved in the Hype culture.
All these "wanna be", "wanna look like", wearing goggles to be hype....have now been made obsolete since the only thing needed now is a picture of an idol, wearing these so wanted goggles mimed with the hands, and wear it proudly.
This is the result that you get from a deep understanding of this trend among friends and contacts involved in the fashion business that these young designers decided to bring to life, as a first step, everybody's wish from simple designs AND higher quality materials that could be worn anywhere, anytime, no matter what the style is.
So, it's literally by focusing on these 2 key points that these 2 artists have decided to extend the panoplie and to develop other products. Your turn now ... make a wish...!
(So ... what are you dreaming of?)"
You can grab these HMN through colette.

Nigo Steps Down as President of Bape
Ok, before you spit out your beverage all over the computer screen, it's not as extreme as it sounds. Nigo, founder and lead designer of A Bathing Ape, has stepped down from his President and Director role at the company. He will still be the Majority of Bape and remain as a designer of both Bape and BBC/Ice Cream.
Luckily I have a membership to WWD, so here is the complete article:
"Nigo, the Japanese fashion designer who has gathered a cult following for his A Bathing Ape streetwear brand, is stepping down as president and director of the brand he founded in 1993.
Nigo said in an e-mail he will remain the majority owner of Nowhere Co. Ltd., A Bathing Ape’s parent company. He will also continue as the designer of A Bathing Ape (aka Bape) as well as his partnership with singer-producer Pharrell Williams in the Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream brands, where he is co-owner and head designer.
“I intend to explore the possibilities of taking on new projects on a freelance basis,” he said.
Nigo said he has decided to give up his management duties at the firm in order to concentrate more on the creative side, which was the reason he started the company. A spokeswoman said the firm’s executives are currently deciding whether to hire a new president.
Nigo, whose real name is Tomoaki Nagao, is known worldwide as a Japanese music producer, DJ and founder of Bape, which he launched 16 years ago Wednesday. To create buzz around his new brand in 1993, Nigo produced between 30 and 50 T-shirts a week and split them between his celebrity friends, including Williams and Kanye West, while only putting a limited number for sale.
Today, A Bathing Ape, which Nigo named after the 1968 film “Planet of the Apes,” is said to generate well over $70 million annually in retail sales. There are 24 Bape stores worldwide, most of which are in Japan, with one store in New York and one in Los Angeles. The brand now extends beyond clothing to a Bape CafĂ©, Bape Cuts hair salon, Bape Kids and even a music division, Bape Sounds."
Also read here how Tet from W)Taps will now be designing fot Bape, as we reported last week.

Pharrell Buggin Out at McDonalds for a Big Mac
Just saw this on Twitter and started dying cause it's some shit I can see one of my friends pulling.
Apparently a hungry Pharrell, NERD, Famlay & crew were waiting for a flight in Paris at 6am and the McDonalds just wasn't serving real food yet. So this was P's attempt with song and dance to get something other than breakfast.
"I want a Big Mac, fillet-o-fish, quarter pounder, french fries, icy cold milk shake, sundaes and .......... c'mon say it ........ apple pie"
He's about to get picked up by McDonalds with that little on the spot jingle there, damn catchy.

Teriyaki Boyz - Serious Japanese Album Cover
On 1st look, the new Teriyaki Boyz Serious Japanese album cover looks to be a sea of photoshopped men completely 'Baped out' with full zipped shark parkas on.
But with some behind the scenes pics we can see that it's not PS at all, Nigo actually produced a whole mess of vinyl Teriyaki Boyz to add some authenticity to the shoot. (Yes I'm just as shocked as you that Nigo still has hair)
Sure it would have been cooler with REAL people in fully zipped sharks but this is a pretty interesting alternative, which might result in new Bape toys available to us soon? Guess we'll wait and see what the album has in store.
Check out the revamped Teriyaki Boyz site here
Watch the video for the single Work That ft Pharrell & Chris Brown, here.
Lastly, look for the album Serious Japanese on 1.28.2009

BBC/ Ice Cream Season 8 s/s Lookbook
Heading for their 8th season in the game already, BBC/ Ice Cream has released their spring/ summer '08 look book. For lack of anything more to say until you see the pictures, the lookbook is filled with highs and some serious lows.
Yes those 2 pics were some of the highlights, but then some fuckery ensued that just leaves you saying, "wtf is going on here?" "I'm a pink airplaneeeee"
Sauce.
Looking like a fab Vanilla Ice.
While some of the clothes are out there, that's always the case with BBC/ Ice Cream, the thing that got me was the styling, models, and poses. Stylist Carri Mundane took creative control of the lookbook (minus Pharrell's pics oddly enough where he did his own styling with another photographer, I don't blame him) as she did with the season 6 lookbook.
Not sure why P let this pass, but hopefully people can see past the outrageousness and notice that there are a couple stand out pieces in the collection.
View the rest of the lookbook here for some more highlights and many more lows. At the very least you'll get a quick laugh.

Atelier WM x Pharrell Candles
No, I don't want to own Pharrell's hands in wax form, but I do think that these new Atelier WM candles are pretty damn cool (and somewhat creepy).
The blue Star Trak / Star Trek candle is limited to 200 peices between Colette and BBC/ Ice Cream stores while no word on the other colors and gestures yet.
Can be bought here now.
Might be my inner pyro speaking but I really wanna see these things burn.
