To honor the late great Alexander McQueen, it has just been announced that The Metropolitan Museum of Art will be displaying a full exhibit of his entire career's worth of work, from college to his final collection. The show will be called “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty”, set to open Spring 2011.
I'm beyond excited for this show because I've always seen McQueen as a costume designer more than a traditional fashion designer, so to track his progression over the past two decades from school to Givenchy to the designer we know now, will be quite interesting. Huge *clap clap* to The Met for making this tribute happen.
The show will be up from May 4 to July 31, 2011, launching with an opening gala on May 2nd. It's not exactly right around the corner, but it's only up for a couple of months so be sure to make some time in your calendars for this.
