10 Deep - Spring 2010 (Delivery 2) "Internationally Known"

I think I've come to the realization that 10 Deep lookbooks are more of an experience than just pictures of people wearing clothes. So with that said, I leave you with one lone picture and a link to the Spring 2010 "Internationally Known" lookbook.

The top that Curt@!n$ is modeling here is rather rad.

"The second dose of our Spring 2010 collection lookbook is now live. Again featuring up-and-comers CurT@!n$ and Stalley (as well as our typical cast of extended family members), this follow-up to the delivery one lookbook moves away from the stark and militant visuals of the season’s first delivery. This new offering gives a flip-side look at the hero/criminals first seen in Delivery 1. This time around, the moneyed, internationally known and semi-upstanding luminaries of the status quo serve as a backdrop. Though widely respected, none of these figures are above reproach, nor beneath praise.

Button-down woven shirts in both long and short sleeve options anchor the collection, and Chambray and camo-highlighted sateen convertible shorts follow things up. Batting clean-up are a new spread of headgear – from Oxford New Eras to our classic 5 Panels, redone up in Oxford Stripes, Tonal Ginghams and trapped panel screenprinting."

Available next week for purchase through 10Deep.

Introducing: TOMS

I've been meaning to do a post on TOMS for a while here on SwaggerDap, and with the launch of a few new shoes in a bunch of new stores, it seems like a good time to do so. With TOMS popularity, this probably isn't an "Introductory" for most people, but since there are still too many people unaware, you can get familiar now...

TOMS was started just a few years ago as a mission to put shoes on the feet of needy people around the world. On trip to Argentina (hence the TOMS logo) the founder, Blake, noticed that there were so many children without shoes, and after looking into it he discovered that this could keep them out of school and more seriously transmit tons of diseases their way. To aid this he didn't want to rely on fundraising, so he made 10,000 very simply constructed but durable shoes and started the "one for one" campaign where a pair of shoes is donated for every pair of shoes sold.

TOMS 'Classic' model in gold glitter. (This pair is for women, don't be turned off guys)

To keep costs low, so far TOMS has only really had one construction but now with things starting to blow up they have introduced a new Harbour Cordones model that has more of a shoe look with eyelets. The shoes are made for men, women, and kids and run from $40-70, which isn't bad considering you are really buying 2 pairs of shoes with that purchase.

I had an opportunity to meet with TOMS representatives at their showroom last summer, and the company is full of amazing people who have nothing bad to say about the brand or the owner. They have been able to provide over 40,000 shoes to people throughout South America and Africa since 2006. Amazing stuff. Support them.

You can pick up TOMS shoes through Rugged Sole and many other TOMS accounts nation wide.

Durkl x Second Son - Sherlock Cap

Our bros at Durkl are introducing a new collaboration series, the "Capital Collection", starting with some work with London's Second Son. They've released this dope Sherlock Holmes inspired variation of a 5-panel hat with ear flaps, and iconic houndstooth pattern...

Designed in London and produced in America, the package also comes complete with a traditional English tobacco pipe! The limited edition Sherlock package is available now on both Durkl and Second Son web shops.

There is also a nice trailer for the launch...

(Nerd talk: the traditional Sherlock Holmes hat is actually a model called a deerstalker, and has a distinctive construction rarely used on hats now a days)

And definitely stay tuned for more collabs from this Capital Collection series, as Durkl (being from DC) is setting to team up with brands from other "capital" cities around the globe.

The Secret Behind Nike Air | Video

Yea yea yea, MORE Nike content on SwaggerDap. I know. This employment is either getting to me, or just opening my eyes more and more to the amazing stuff that Nike does. Well I guess this video isn't exactly amazing, but it sure is funny and creative on Nike's part.

So take a look into the secret behind the oh so famous Nike Air...

Starring David Koechner and Nike athletes Troy Polamalu, Paul Rodriguez, Maria Sharapova, Carl Lewis, Brandon Roy, John Mcenroe, Sanya Richards, and Paula Radcliffe.

This is all part of the Air Attack campaign, which is a HUGE launch of Air shoes from Nike that will be releasing on April 7th at NikeTown NYC. The collection features 5 pairs of shoes in each of 6 different models (yes that's 30 shoes releasing!). Collection will feature the Air Max 1, Air Maxim 1, Air Max 95, Air Max 2009, Air Max Tailwind 2010, and the launch of the brand new Air Max 24/7 (which is like a '95 meets '97 meets 2009).
