Nike Dunk High "DJ AM"

With no preview shots or possible hype, Nike has just released a quickstrike Dunk High in memory of long time sneaker head DJ AM who passed away earlier this year.

As you can see the shoe features DJ AM's logo on the tongue tag, uses a black patent leather and red premium leather for the upper, and the swoosh also looks to be premium leather. The heel has 4 perforated rows at the bottom that hides a very nice 3m detail.
A recent quickstrike release in Asia, these should hit QS accounts this week.

Also, as you've probably heard, DJ AM's entire sneaker collection has slowly been put on eBay, and there are still hundreds of pairs up for grabs. Size 11-12 you are especially in luck! All of the proceeds to to the DJ AM Memorial Fund.

Lupe Fiasco - Enemy Of The State: A Love Story

Most Lupe fans were fiending for this right at midnight, but some people are still in the dark. This is the first Lupe Fiasco mixtape leading up to his 3rd (and final) solo album, We Are Lasers. And for anyone who was scared that he was gunna go rockstar or fall off, you are sooooo wrong, the man still got it!

DOWNLOAD - Lupe Fiasco - Enemy of the State: A Love Story

Apparently the tape was actually meant to be released as one straight file, like a cassette tape, so if you are down to get the actual artist vision, you can also DL the one file here.

"The game was looking weak, the whole scene starved. So I game through with some Muscle Milk and protein Bars. Barbells and jump ropes, Bowflex to body it, and a couple Billy Blanks Tai Bo karate kicks"

Follow up mixtape due for Christmas called Friend of the People according to @wearelasers. So people can hate all they want that Lupe doesn't put music out frequently enough, but if he keeps putting out stuff on this level I'll stay more than happy with an album every few years.

Happy Thanksgiving!

DURKL - Holiday 2009 Denim Preview

While they had some colored denim pieces a season or two ago, DURKL is taking things more seriously now, starting over with denim, and it all begins with this raw black wax coated denim, that comes in 3 different fits. Only teaser shots thus far...

From DURKL:
"Around a year ago we decided to revamp and redevelop our whole denim line. our goal was to use better and different fabrics than were on the market, to use better manufacturing to streamline construction, to tighten up our measurements to achieve 3 perfect fits, and do all this for a reasonable retail price.
over a year later our vision is coming to light, and our new denim offerings will be hitting the market in the next weeks"

"If it doesn't fit, you must acquit" so it looks like they'll be having Classic, Straight, and Skinny fits to offer us. Nice! The small details an purple accents aren't too shabby either.

I'll definitely be keeping you updated on this one once it releases, which should be rather soon. But for now you can check out the rest of their collection and shop it here. (be sure to use that "SwaggerDap" code to get your discount too!)

10 Deep - Winter 2009 Products

I feel like I've been forcing 10 Deep down your throats for the past week or so, but here are just a few product shots from the "Hunt, or be Hunted" Winter 2009-2010 collection as it begins to hit stores...

That 1st camo jacket is absolute fire, and the entire collection is pretty impressive. No shots at all but its reminiscent of what Neighborhood was and has been doing for the past few years with army inspired pieces with patches and paint splatter details.

A few of these are now up on the 10 Deep store, and the entire collection will be hitting doors this week.

The Reurn of LA Lights from LA Gear

Early in the year I caught you up on the reurgence of the LA Gear brand and found that there were reports of their most famous LA Lights model to return to market by year's end. Well the year sure is coming to an end quick and LA Gear is sticking to their word by releasing the new 2009 LA Lights on Black Friday. But does it live up to the lore?...

When I 1st heard the news I was excited and scrambled on to my phone's browser to get a glimpse of these as soon as humanly possibly. However what I saw kind of left me at a loss, not really disappointed but more sad that I was seeing exactly what I had expected, LA Gear tying way too hard.
To me and the many sneaker lovers that would kill for a fresh pair of LA Lights from 1993, the shoe has been somewhat of a myth since childhood. An old school bulky basketball shoe frame with somewhat rinky-dink lights that insert into the heel and blink a few times. That's what I have wanted for so long, that's what I would fork over my hard earned $100-200 for.
But, to me it's kind of clear that LA Gears isn't owned by sneaker heads like us. It's owned by someone who doesn't really get the market and does't really know how to cash in on the name that they already have. So instead we got a 2009 version of the Lights with shiney materials, somewhat awkward colorways, and an entire heel that lights up out of control. It's like a Hollywood "bigger, faster, stronger" steroid version of the shoe's I remember.

While I am slightly disappointed I do hope that LA Gear does well with this return and maybe one day we'll get a true retro sneaker from them.

These will release on Black Friday at 12:01AM on SportieLA.com.
There will be 5 coloways for men (white, blue, black, grey above, one not shown), and 3 for women (gold, silver above, red not shown)

Reebok x Hellz Bellz: Ten Steps Ahead of You

Earlier this year, I previously posted the Hellz Bellz collab with Reebok "First Ladies" sneakers. Here's an actual photo of the shoes. It's final, these bad babies are going to be released this Black Friday, November 27th at selected retailers!

Hellz proudly presents the Hellz x Reebok collab shoe. Hellz never fails and continues to grow in the fashion industry collarborating with many of the industries. Feast your eyes (and feet) on their upcoming Reebok mid-top sneaker. With a tightly perforated black leather upper with a fold-down polk-a-dot-lined ankle color, black studded detailing and bright yellow laces (also comes with black). The Top-Down style features a ‘Ladies First” empowering message ” I’m ten steps ahead of you” discreetly printed on the inside. As mentioned on the Hellz Bellz blog, it will releasing very soon and stay posted for they will have more fancy footwork coming along your way. Hellz is currently working on their online shop and is offering a special gift if purchased through Hellz.

I'm really diggin' these shoes. Would definitely go great with some leggings. Would you cop them this Black Friday? What are your thoughts?

Married to the MOB x Lacoste Hironia Sneaker

Married To The MOB, Lacoste's Hironia Sneaker combine to give you this sexy laced out, seductive sneaker paying homage to shoe designer Christian Louboutin.

This high top sneaker features a lace material throughout the entire sneaker, keepin' it sweet yet sassy with a shiny lavender base peeking through an all-over black lace overlay with shiny laces. They got the alligator stamped on one side of the heel. They also have their stamped logo of the MOB lips on the tongue and the heel of the shoe in red in relevance to Christian Louboutins.

This isn't MOB's first shoe. MOB has also released last year a MTTM high top dunks. I love lace, and most definitely feelin' these shoes. I like the shade of purple that goes perfectly with the black lace. These sneakers are scheduled to be released sometime this year. Stay tuned for more information.
