Kobe and Lebron NBA Playoffs Commercial

Saw everyone tweeting about this commercial while I was at the Mets game last night, and with good reason. It's hysterical...

Unfortunately it doesn't look like LeBron will be making to the finals, but hey this might be the year where he starts his legend. Either way it's been an amazing NBA Playoffs.

Hellz Bellz "So Lolita" Summer '09 Collection

Lanie, the maker of Hellz Bellz, has presented to all the lady Hellz fiends the summer '09 collection called "So Lolita." It's about time we get our HB summer gear!

"So Lolita exudes a modern day coquette… She’s unpredictable playing it up with the high fashion “Hellz Naw” jacket to the raw “Gun It” dress while maintaining an idealism of Black is NOW but Color is ALWAYS, bringing forth a vamped up innocence." -Misslawn

Photography by Brooke Nipar Model: Julia Vaughn

Hellz is heating it up with this bad ass collection. The collection includes a variety of cut and styles to complete any female's wardrobe. The styles includes a range of volume bubble skirts to edgy studded vest to the graphic tees synonymous to Hellz. Taking the construction of the line to new heights, Hellz revamped silhouettes and wear ability by providing light weight nylon jackets for a stylish look in comfort.

The "So Lolita" collection is available at your local boutique. Also, look out for the collection at Karmaloop, Revolve Clothing, and 80's Purple. So get it while you can!!!

Hellz Bellz, as always, gets better and better and never seems to be a dissapoinment. I'm in love with the collection. What do you think?

Louis Vuitton Underground Store Tokyo

With yet another conceptual store in Tokyo, Louis Vuitton is opening their new Louis Vuitton /underground/ shop in the basement of a Ikebukuro Seibu Department Store.

Apparently the new retail space for Louis Vuitton in the Seibu Store is currently under construction and won't be ready for them until 2010. So, with this in mind LV decided to accept the construction and run with the theme. Taking the basement as their new home, the space is perfectly designed as a working warehouse with crates and forklifts used as product displays. The store should be running until late Fall.

NSW Livestrong Stages Footwear, Bringing Back the Classics

In a new strong effort towards the Livestrong campaign, Nike Sportswear (NSW) is releasing an entire collection of Livestrong themed apparel and footwear. In this collection, Nike has remixed a few of their most sought after shoes of all time into the black and yellow Livestrong colorways...

FLOM Dunk SB Hi by Futura.
(Arguably the most wanted sneaker out. Original release of only 24 pairs. The pattern features various currency from around the world, originally in their respective colors. FLOM = For Love Or Money)

Busy P Air Force 1
(Released not too long ago, the original sneaker hosts a rainbow of colors.)

Hideout Woven Footscape
(Originally an exclusive for Hideout in London, the shoe was white and grey based)

Mr. Cartoon Air Force 1
(The original sneaker was a custom by famous tattoo artist Mr. Cartoon, and was never actually released.)

I think that all of these look really great in the yellow and black, but for some reason the only must have for me is those Woven Footscapes. So damn nice. But the FLOMs look kinda great too.

While these are definitely the highlights of the Livestrong Stages collection, there are some more footwear and clothing that you can check out here.

S.W.A.G. - The Originators

I always like to show love to brands who support SwaggerDap and send free gear, I mean it's the least we can do. So when The Originators send out a few tees this week, once again, it's all love...

The Originators are all about paying homage to the OGs who paved the way, as you can see in this 1st tee,"Native Tongues". The artwork draws directly from the staple A Tribe Called Quest album art and mixes it with a little Rolling Stones.

While I am always grateful for anything sent my way, I coundn't exactly get as excited about the second t-shirt, which was a tribute to some OG Yankees. Little did The Originators know that I am a huge Mets fan, so as you can see the shirt kind of stuck out when in the mix with the rest of my baseball paraphernalia...

ATTN: YANKEES FANS,
Might be your lucky day! Shoot me an email to john@swaggerdap.com for your chance to get your hands on this shirt. Just include your name, favorite Yankee of all time, and why. Anyone can enter but the tee is a Large. I'll be emailing the winner back by Sunday.

Thanks again to The Originators for showing love. Be sure to check their stuff out. Dealers, more info, and an online shop can all be found on their site.

The Anatomy of a Dunny

Well technically I guess the true anatomy of a Dunny is just vinyl, but artist motorbot got a little conceptual with these custom Dunnys to show their inner workings...

Pretty awesome, eh? The muscle and skull one is rather creepy and I love how the ears are cut off on second one and turned into veins.

See more of motorbot's work here.

The new site is really smooth and even has a full list of stores with multiple pictures of each and their respective camo on the side. As you can see below with the NY store...

A few months back you might remember that Bape redid their website and opened their very 1st web store for their Japan customers. Well with this new US site will also come an online shopping experience very soon. Europe, maybe you'll be next?

Entire Nike SB City Pack at MentalKicks

Released way back in 2003, when Nike SB was just starting to take over the sneaker scene, the original City Pack consists of 4 of the most coveted SBs (if not sneakers) to ever have been released. Now, some 6 years later, MentalKicks somehow has the entire pack together for sale in the same size (11 if you were wondering and have the dough).

From front to back: New York (Pigeons), Paris, Tokyo, and London. Each were exclusively released in their respective cities.

The sneakers originally released for close to MSRP, but with only 200 pairs of each in existence the market price on each pair is now somewhere between $1,000-5,000 and continues to rise each year.

No clue how they did it or how long they've been holding onto them but MentalKicks is now selling all 4 pairs in size 11 as a package deal for $10,000.

Breaks my heart that I fit size 11 and that this opportunity will most likely never be available again.

Married to the MOB “Lost Summer” Summer 2009 Collection

Married to the Mob welcomes summer with their new Summer '09 Collection called "Lost Summer." Over the years of Married to the Mob, Leah McSweeney (maker of MOB) has expanded and has gotten bigger in women's streetwear. Their shirts are most popular and their slogans are more eye-catching more than ever. Leah has her younger sister, Sarah, "Sweet 16" in the campaign shots and the lookbook is shot by David "Shadi" Perez.

“I wanted to create a collection that was nostalgic of the summer that totally turned me into a bad girl. First kiss, first joint, first 40 ounce. Might sound silly but it changed my life. Every girl had that summer. If they didn’t then they missed out.” -Leah McSweeney

Our hot summer days are just around the corner and MOB has presented to you their gears of graphic tees, tops, tank tops, shorts, dresses, rompers, and bikinis. The collection is currently available at MOB SHops and selected retailers. Cop yo gears!

Who's Hungry? - Animated Short by David Ochs

Who's Hungry? is a 5 minute animated short from CalArts student David Ochs. It is the perfectly dark retelling of Grimms version of Hansel and Gretel.

Amazingly David is a only first year student, but at a school where they say "If you are good enough to get into CalArts, you probably don't need to go to CalArts", I guess class standing doesn't really matter. Ochs' perfect use of animation, lighting, sound, and storytelling won him a spot in the esteemed CalArts Producers’ Show.

For some back story, I found out that freshmen at CalArts are not allowed to create a work over 90 seconds if they wish to be eligible for a spot in the Producers' show. The one exception to this rule is if their film is chosen as best overall film by the entire student body. Well as you can see, Ochs achieved this and won their "Peer’s Pick Award" as a freshman.

Wish I could give you more on Ochs or a website but I couldn't find a verified site.

The Award Tour - "Born To Run" Summer 2009 Lookbook

Straight outta the Jerz, The Award Tour is back this season with their new Summer collection "Born to Run." Shot by Tone on the Jersey shore, here are some shots from the "Born to Run" lookbook...

While they do their thing each season, for some reason I feel that the dudes over at The Award Tour just love the summer. And honestly the designs just have a great Summer vibe. This season is no exception as the "Born to Run" collection some really great illustrations and colors.

(sidenote: on Twitter it was said that the inspiration "Born to Run" was not actually Bruce Springsteen but rather Canadian rapper K-Os)

Be sure to check out the entire lookbook here.
Also make sure you go and read their blog, as it's one of my favorite daily reads.
